How Do I Remove Selection Links - Get Rid of Selection Links Easily

I now have a problem with words being highlighted on a page like Craigs List and when I mouse over, an ad opens up. This and the selection Link pop-up on the bottom of the screen is most disconcerting. How do I completely remove it?
